Evolution
Since before the beginning
the power's been around
to create worlds
in midair
and turn them upside down.
At first, threat was a sorcerer
who'd turn you into frog
presently whoever,
whoever has a bomb.
The eyes to see the throne to mount
the eyes supposedly recently acquired
look up the road and down the pike
and wander as they tire.
The focus on the mind turned off
the lights come up in a dream.
The phase begins on diode pins
inserted north to south
down spinal tubes
from roots to cubes
from mind through words to mouth
from mouth through words to mind
the dreamscape is refined
until at last, the dream is past
then back to wake in time.
Now back to work, it's time.
